While celebrity brands have been known to come and go, there are a few exceptions to the rule. Rhode is one of those exceptions. Time and time again, the Hailey Bieber-founded brand has proven its staying power in the beauty world. And now, their beloved Pocket Blushes are going to find themselves in even more hands. And purses. And pockets, of course.

Three years after the simple-yet-effective skincare and makeup brand’s launch, we’re finally able to shop Rhode in person without (hopefully) waiting in a long pop-up line. To the delight of both longtime fans and beauty insiders who have been aching to try the brand, Rhode is officially available at Sephora stores, starting September 4. Sephora US and Sephora Canada will be stocked first, with Sephora UK following close behind.

“From day one, it’s been our dream to bring efficacious, intentional skincare and beauty essentials to as many people as possible. We’re so happy to be partnering with Sephora to help us bring the world of rhode to more people and expand our global community,” wrote the brand in an Instagram post announcing the news back in May.

Fast Facts: Rhode

Founded: June 2022

Based In: Los Angeles, California, with headquarters in Beverly Hills.

Best Known For: Curated skincare and makeup essentials for a variety of skin types.

Most Popular Products: Glazing Milk, Peptide Lip Balm, Peptide Glazing Fluid

Fun Fact: Rhode is Hailey Bieber’s middle name, and she conceived the brand while on a personal journey toward healthier skin.

With a consistent viral presence across social media, the brand has become one of the most talked about beauty lines since its launch, solidifying its spot as a top competitor in the industry. At the start, the focus was solely on skincare, with the release of just three simple products: a daily serum, moisturizer, and peptide lip balm. This trio created the boom of the term ‘glazed skin’ which refers to the ultra-dewy finish Bieber often compares to a glazed donut. The brand aimed to offer affordable products while addressing common skincare concerns and continued to evolve with that ethos.

As Rhode grows, we are seeing more and more launches that fall into the makeup skincare hybrid category—Peptide Lip Shape, anyone? It feels like a very natural way for the brand to progress into color without losing that core messaging of science-backed formulas. To further establish her brand, Bieber assembled an advisory board to help with product innovation—cosmetic chemist, Dr. Ron Robinson and board-certified dermatologist Dr. Dhaval Bhanusali.

To give a full review of what the brand has to offer—and what Sephora shoppers are soon going to be able to experience for themselves—I tested eight Rhode products, from the barrier restore cream to the peptide lip shape. Skincare has always been one of my favorite categories to test. I am passionate about skincare and how the right products can improve your skin. I have also experienced the fallout from using the wrong formulas. The opportunity to test Rhode came right on time for me, as I was healing from overdoing it with retinoids and needing to bring my skin barrier back to normal. My skin was red, abnormally breaking out, and I was experiencing hypersensitivity. Following the Rhode routine was super simple, making the whole process less overwhelming. Below are my honest thoughts on each Rhode product I tested and the results I achieved.

Pocket Blush

From the travel-friendly packaging to the natural satin finish, this cream blush is the perfect makeup product when you are on the go. One of the first things I noticed when using this product was how pigmented it was. Upon my initial application, I thought I had applied too much, but once I started blending it out I realized that the color comes off strong but can be blended to look natural.

I wore the shade, Toasted Teddy. The consistency is similar to a gel, and it doesn’t pill or lift the foundation underneath it. I also applied a cream highlighter on top, which didn’t disrupt the blush at all. What makes this stand out from other cream blushes is that it lasts, so you don’t need to worry about reapplication. Plus, it can also be worn on the lips for a chic monochromatic makeup moment.

While this may look like a lip liner, it is slightly different. The Peptide Lip Shape goes above and beyond to add more dimension and color wherever you wish to apply it. It’s easy to use with a built-in silicone shaping brush on the opposite end. This product works as a full lip color or to help shape lips while wearing lipstick. Here I’m wearing the shade Lunge. It’s thicker than a standard lip liner, which makes it easier to hold onto while shaping and contouring my lips.

Similar to the Peptide Lip Treatment, this has all of the skin-loving ingredients that come with the original formula but just with a touch of color. I liked wearing this during the day instead of lip gloss. I wore it both alone and on top of lipstick in the shade Toast, and found the consistency, color, and texture quite lovely. It’s suitable for anyone who wants to address dry, chapped lips but also wants some color, too!

Consider this a much-needed upgrade to your traditional lip balm. It glides on like a gloss and works to keep lips moisturized thanks to hydrating all-stars shea butter, peptides, and five essential fatty acids. I applied the Peptide Lip Treatment in the morning and evening after my skincare routine. The most prominent callout for me was how it did not feel goopy or sticky. It sits nicely on your lips and feels hydrating, with a nice slip that’s not distracting. You don’t need much, so keep that in mind when applying to preserve your product. I found it similar to most lip balms in that I needed to reapply it every few hours to maintain optimum hydration.

Glazing Milk

Just as the name alludes, this essence has a milky consistency. It is packed with ceramides and serves as a first layer of defense for hydrating your skin. This was one of my favorite products from the line, if not the hero. I immediately noticed how it calmed the redness and scars I’d accrued from some stubborn breakouts. It was exceptionally soothing and nourishing, and I felt like it gave an instant hit of hydration. I applied anywhere from one to three layers of this essence if my skin felt particularly dry or inflamed, and noticed a substantial difference.

Peptide Glazing Fluid

This lightweight gel serum is designed to be the next step in locking all the moisturizing benefits of the Glazing Milk. The formula has niacinamide, peptides, hyaluronic acid, and marula oil to help leave skin plump. It certainly lives up to its description of a dewy, hydrating layer. I noticed how quickly it absorbed into my skin. The important callout about this product is that it didn’t feel heavy or sticky. One pump was enough to cover my face. I dabbed the formula onto my cheeks and forehead before massaging it in.

Barrier Butter

The thickest of Rhode’s two moisturizers, the Barrier Butter is a rich balm designed to lock in hydration. Due to its gentle and healing properties, it was also awarded the Seal of Acceptance from the National Eczema Association. I preferred to use this as the final step in my skincare routine. It helped in areas where my skin was dry, patchy, and irritated from using actives.

A bonus of this product is that it can be used all over the body. I tested it out on the back of my arms, elbows, and knees. While it takes a little longer to absorb fully, it’s a lovely way to lock in all the nourishing ingredients I hoped my skin would hold onto. I also liked reaching for this formula after shaving and found it very soothing.

Barrier Restore Cream

$32 at Sephora

The Barrier Restore Cream is meant to act as your everyday moisturizer. It is perfect for those who are struggling to soothe an irritated skin barrier and uses star ingredients such as squalane and peptides.

The texture of this cream is slightly more decadent than a regular moisturizer but not thick or greasy like some other barrier creams tend to be. A little goes a long way, so I squeezed a pea-sized amount, massaged it with my fingers, and pressed it into my face, neck, and chest. The cream also absorbs well, and it’s essential to let the previous products sink in for a few minutes before applying it. Another key callout is that these products have no noticeable fragrance, which I sometimes react to when it’s too strong. The barrier cream felt as soothing as the other products and left a nice sheen on my skin.
