The only thing on my mind from the Super Bowl is Kendrick Lamar’s viral flare jeans. You’ve probably seen the iconic pair from Celine flood your feeds with praise and criticism. Well, I’m here to tell you that this timeless style is back for good, and if you don’t believe me, take it from the king of rap himself. I’ve been a fan of the flattering silhouette for years, as I find that the wider bottom elongates and leans out the legs. I’m very picky about my jeans, so I’ve tried dozens of brands to find my perfect match. But none compare to the comfort, wash, fit, design, and compliments I received from this pair from Mother Denim.

We all know shopping for jeans entails a lot of trial and error, so I was genuinely shocked the first time I slipped these babies on. For context, I often struggle to find jeans that are the perfect length (I’m 5 feet, 3 inches) and fit my waist and bum without that odd gap in the back. To my surprise, Mother nailed it: the pair fit true to size, hugging my silhouette snuggly, accentuating all the right curves, and creating a gorgeous lengthening effect thanks to the added flare. Best of all, this style looks polished enough to be dressed up for a date night while still feeling casual, worn-in, and vintage-looking, thanks to the fading at the knees. The Bookie Flood pairs perfectly with boots, but I love styling them with everything, including flats and heels. It’s a true wardrobe staple.

Beyond their superior design and style versatility, these jeans reign supreme in terms of comfort. I’m not being dramatic when I tell you just how stretchy and soft these pants are. Despite being made of Mother’s rigid denim, the 100% cotton fabric feels lightweight and flexible. Plus, they ease up with every wear, improving with time. I’ve worn them for hours—from work to dinner to drinks—and have never wanted to take them off. Lamar would undoubtedly be able to perform in these.
