Gigi Hadid’s Metallic Silver Hair Color Is So Cool

Hair color trends have been all about warm tones over the past few years, but Gigi Hadid is here to change that. Instead of adding lowlights and highlights or revisiting her redhead era, Hadid went for something much cooler—literally and figuratively.

For the Le Grand Diner du Louvre in Paris, Hadid swapped her usual golden blonde hair for silvery shade, which hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos dubbed “silver tequila.” (We see the vision!) The color was an almost exact match for her silver-and-gold gown, with a smoky, shiny cool silver-gray tone contrasted with her dark blonde roots. From certain angles, her hair looked fully metallic, like molten silver, while from others, it appeared to be an ashy blonde. It also just so happened to match her eye color almost exactly, which added to the otherworldly effect and impact.

Giannetos styled the model’s bob in classic Old Hollywood-inspired curls to suit the glamorous nature of the Parisian event. Her bangs were teased and curled into the signature Marilyn Monroe swoop, with the lengths brushed out straight and the ends sculpted into flippy curls. The “silver tequila” color, dark roots, and simple pink lip kept the look feeling modern and fresh, not like she was cosplaying Monroe.

Because Hadid is a supermodel who is used to transforming for photoshoots and runway shows, she’s never been afraid to take chances on and off the red carpet, and she loves an unconventional and unexpected touch to elevate her look. Take, for example, the cool gray matte lipstick she wore at the 2022 CFDA Awards, pairing it with dewy skin and a septum ring for a grunge-meets-glam moment. Whether Hadid will stay silver or not is TBD; it could be a temporary wash-out color specifically for the event, or maybe it’ll stick around for spring!
