Right, I’m off to do some more deals spotlights till 11pm. I’m handing over to Adam now.
Still with Jenson in the USA for a moment. I can vouch for this product because I’m wearing one. The excellent, and in fact, pretty unbeatable Garmin Fenix 8 is on sale at Jensons USA for 21% off. I’ve tested the Coros and Suunto equivalents recently and I prefer this one.
Jenson in the USA have a gorgeous Cannondale Super Six Hi-Mod with Ultegra Di2. Unusually, for a sale bike, they have them in stock in 48, 54, 56, 58 and 61. It’s down from $9,999 to $6,999.
Do you run TPU tubes? Have you tried it? Black Friday is a good time to experiment.
These aren’t the cheapo ones, they’re from Pirelli. £17.99, down from £34 EACH! Cheap like the budgie.
Hang on, this one is a bit of a laugh, but we’ve got to keep sane haven’t we. I was just doing one more lap of Amazon, and a Drift Trike flagged up.
Before I get dragged off the stage by my colleague I want to point out another gem we’ve found. This one is a good measure more practical (and does have some genuine utility, Adam).
OOO, hang on. If you missed the Kickr Core deal, you might be pleased to see this one is still running, on the Tacx Neo 2T which we reviewed recently.
All is not lost, a quick glance at our deals hub tells me we still have Cycplus AS2 Pro electronic pumps available to buy.
To almost underline why we do this – scour around the tinternet for days to try and bring you the best deals first – I was excited to tell you about the Wahoo Kickr Core units we found on sale earlier, I was literally about to write a post about it.
When Matt got the angle grinder out and tested a load of locks, in the same building as the Country Life kitchens (imagine how that went down) he found this OnGuard RockSolid D-Lock to be incredible at fending off attacks from angle grinders. Some were like cheese, this one absolutely isn’t.
We’ve found it on sale right now with nearly £50 off.
Adam was urging restraint earlier… “check if you do you really need it” vibes, but you’ll get none of that from me tonight…
Thanks, Adam. I loved the example of you actually riding in your Maap kit. I’m going to clap back with a pic of me head to toe in Maap, out in Girona. The side on shot demonstrates how accommodating their race fit gear really is for a middle aged man of a certain size. Astonishing.
I’m off for a bit of a break now, but my colleague Andy Carr is going to take over – you’re in safe hands, he’s the tech editor.
We published our review of the Garmin Edge 850 online this week, and my colleague Aaron loved it, concluding: “As it stands, no other company has a companion app as comprehensive as Garmin Connect, and, if you’ve been using the Garmin ecosystem for a while, it’s easy to buy a new Garmin and plug it in.”
In good news, in the UK it currently has almost £50 off at Tredz.
It’s not just specific cycling kit that’s on sale either – if you’ve been holding out for that new pair of earphones for a while now, the Apple AirPods 4 are now under $70 on Amazon. That’s the lowest we’ve ever seen them, and they’re perfect if you need accompaniment on your bike.
I only started work at 3pm GMT/10am EST/7am PST, so my clock is a bit out of kilter, but it did mean that I could go for a bike ride in daylight earlier – lucky me! It was oddly mild today, but I was still in bib tights. In fact, I was head-to-toe in MAAP gear made for intermediate weather, and so it’s exciting to discover that MAAP have a giant sale on across their range.
M’colleagues have been spending all day scouring the internet for some of the best deals out there: Hannah finally went for an Oura Ring 4 because the price was finally right; Meg plumped for some Altura mittens; while Aaron urged you all to get a 4iii power meter.
When looking at a deal, think about whether you actually need the product, or if you’re just buying something because it’s a lot cheaper than usual – you don’t just want more things you don’t use around your house.
What’s the best thing you’ve ever got in a sale? There are some great deals out there, but it might seem quite hard to know where to start.
Of course, we can point you in the right direction of things that have caught our eye, but you would probably be best of starting with some of the bigger sites – Amazon in the US and Amazon in the UK being the biggest, obviously. But there’s also Competitive Cyclist, REI, Mike’s Bikes and more in the US, and Decathlon, Sigma Sports, Balfes Bikes and more over in the UK too.
I haven’t actually done a live blog since stage 19 of this year’s Giro d’Italia, so do bear with me if anything looks a bit odd.
If you want to see a roundup of the best bike deals out there, do make sure to take a look at our Black Friday Bike Deals 2025 page.
Good evening to those in the UK, and good morning and good afternoon to those in the US. Happy Thanksgiving! I’m Adam, and I’ll be taking you through the next few hours of the Black Friday prelude.
