Modern Adventure Pro Cycling has removed The Move podcast logo — the show fronted by Lance Armstrong — from its team kit ahead of its 2026 debut.
Team owner George Hincapie also confirmed to Velo that there’s no official link to Armstrong and the new startup American team with big ambitions.
“It was on the jersey, but it’s not anymore,” Hincapie told Velo. “Lance is not involved, and he never wanted to have anything to do with the team.”
The Move is a cycling podcast hosted by Armstrong and Hincapie and features rotating guests.
The podcast logo appeared when the jersey was first unveiled this fall, raising eyebrows over whether it was permitted, given Armstrong’s lifetime ban from cycling.
Hincapie said the initial placement was a temporary placeholder to help promote the team while management finalized commercial partners going into its debut season.
“We’re still friends and we do the podcast together,” Hincapie said of Armstrong. “He’s so busy with his next ventures, and he never really wanted to get back into the game anyway.”
Hincapie told Velo that the space has since been filled by a paying sponsor contributing directly to the team’s budget.
The jersey update comes after the UCI officially approved Modern Adventure’s ProTeam license for 2026.
Backed by multi-year financial guarantees, the squad is set to become the first major new U.S. team in years.
Hincapie and his partners have brought on some solid backers to open what they say is a multi-year plan to build the team into a Tour de France-caliber organization with a strong presence of U.S. riders on its roster.
The title sponsor is Modern Adventure, an upscale travel company. Other frontline backers include Factor, SRAM, Hincapie Sportswear, Harder, Ekoï, and Black Inc.
Additional partners include other big names in and out of cycling, like Finish Line, SelleItalia, ChemStation, Columbia, Hammerhead, Eagle Creek, DeFeet, Coffee Kreis, Michelin, and Training Peaks.
The full roster of 20 riders is set for its first team camp in December and will reconvene in January in Europe.
Hincapie is actively pursuing invites for what will be the team’s first races in its debut season.
