The GTA 6 launch trailer has arrived… over a month before the game launches

Goodness, they’re on top of things over at Rockstar. A launch trailer, over one calendar month before the actual launch of the imperious GTA 6! We bet they’ve done all their Christmas shopping already, too.

Announced via Rockstar’s socials and hosted on its YouTube channel, the typically stylish minute and a half begins with co-protagonist Jason explaining that he didn’t leave the army on the best of terms.

So when you hear a call coming in from his acquaintance Lucia, it’s implied that Jason may be open to business activities of indeterminate legality. Or maybe we’re reading that wrong, and she’s just a really supportive friend.

We’ll find out on 19 November, of course. That gives us a few weeks to enjoy the new track on this launch trailer from French electro masters Justice, who also composed the game’s score.

What about the timing of this trailer, though? Maybe it was always the plan, but GTA 6 has been somewhat under siege by a leaker who’s been sharing extremely low-quality clips of the unfinished game on X. We’re not going to link to it.

So whether coincidentally or not, this trailer is a timely reminder that the game is about impeccable production values, stylish shots of quasi-Floridian sunsets and bespoke music from respected artists, not random gameplay clips being shared around for cheap clicks. So there.
