Perhaps the most exciting addition to the roster from season one to two is American skier Gus Kenworthy. The 2014 Olympic silver medalist spent the past several years competing for Great Britain, but recently switched to compete under the American flag. Kenworthy will make his Snow League debut at the first event of the season in Aspen, Colorado, on January 7-9.

While many of the veterans on the roster may be fan favorites, there are plenty of contenders who could win big this season. Young riders like Alessandro Barbieri, Patti Zhou, Fin Melville-Ives, Zoe Atkin, and plenty of others each have tricks that could put them on podiums.

“One of my favorite things about last season was seeing new contenders emerge with performances that changed the conversation,” The Snow League chief operating officer Ian Warda said in a Park Record article. “Patti Zhou won in her league debut, and Sara Shimizu won the final two events. Now I want to see how they build on that, how Sena Tomita responds as defending champion, and where Olympic champion Gaon Choi fits into that battle. In men’s freeski, Luke Harrold and Brendan Mackay traded wins, and their title race came down to one deciding run at Laax. That’s a rematch I’m already looking forward to.”

With Snow League Season Two regular season on the clock and rosters officially set, both the fans and athletes can start to visualize what the season might look like. A roster full of veterans and rising stars is the perfect recipe for creating some of the most memorable moments in freestyle skiing and snowboarding history. So when The Snow League finally kicks off this season, tune in to catch some of the best athletes in the world.

“I think what The Snow League’s doing for the industry is pretty incredible,” New Zealand skier Luke Harrold said. “And I think it’s really going to be the top-tier season.”

The Snow League Season Two regular season begins on January 7-9 at Buttermilk Mountain in Aspen, Colorado.
