Here are my top four favorite to ski in the USA as a professional free skier:

4. Utah

My favorite things about skiing in Utah are how consistent the storms are, how much it snows there, and how early the snow season starts there. You’re almost always skiing in November or October.

3. Wyoming

The Teton mountain range in Wyoming is tiny. It’s only 40 miles long, but it’s tall, it’s craggy, it’s rocky, and it’s got long steep vertical making the skiing spectacular. Some of the most challenging runs I’ve ever skied in my life have been in the Tetons.

2. Alaska

The mountains of Alaska are legendary. The snowfall is huge and there’s no denying it’s the best skiing terrain on earth. If you’re lucky enough to get into a helicopter, the sky’s the limit. The spines, the steeps, the pillows, and the way that the snow can stick to the steep walls of those Alaskan mountains like nowhere else on earth.

1. California

It’s my favorite state to ski in. California’s Sierra Nevada mountains are 400 miles long and up to 80 miles wide in spots. California boasts great skiing on mind-bending terrain with incredibly good weather from November until July almost every single year.
