MTV VMAs 2026: See all the best dressed celebs on the red carpet

While Madonna and Taylor Swift dominated the trophies, Charli, Troye, Tyla and PinkPantheress were the true winners in the style stakes

It’s that time of year again. The MTV Video Music Awards have rolled around once more, and while the annual red carpet has become a who’s who of ‘who is that’, a few famous people do actually still show up, which is quite nice. Some of those famous people even wear nice clothes, which is even better for us, especially as this year’s ceremony has fallen on a fallow fashion day, aka the 24 hours between Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks. Alas, the Peacock Theatre of downtown Los Angeles – just across the street from the Crypto.com Arena – could never compete with the runways of Paris and Milan, but it tried its hardest, and surely that’s what counts.

Putting her best style foot forward this year was Charli xcx, who arrived in custom Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello – a floor-length velvet skirt and matching crop top with puffball sleeves. Charli isn’t that much of a frequent attender of the VMAs, having last turned up in a Shawna Wu minidress with an inexplicable bouffant for the Crash promo run in 2021. Now, in this post-Brat, post-MFF era, she’s famously upped her style game, and even switched out to a custom Dsquared2 look to perform “Danceteria Afterhours” with Madonna on stage.

Outside of the xcxverse, Teyana Taylor continued a generational run of red carpet moments with a feathered nightgown moment from Zuhair Murad; PinkPantheress looked all grown up in a tiered Nina Ricci column, while Flo came through like Stepford Baddies in matching blunt wigs, blank stares, and body-hugging python dresses. Elsewhere, both Tyla and Troye Sivan pulled fits straight from the recent London Fashion Week catwalks, Tyla in Mowalola and Sivan in Erdem, while Sombr played to the attention economy in a studded ‘SEX’ belt by California brand ERL.
