Scott has a new gravel bike, but it is not the one you are thinking of. The new Scott Addict Gravel might not be the public launch of the 32-inch prototype Cam Jones and Robin Gemperle rode at Unbound, but the new gravel bike still brings a few progressive, modern elements to the Scott lineup.

Increased clearance leads the way, with the bike offering clearance up to 57mm in the front and rear. That is one of the largest stated clearances available on gravel bikes from major brands and will be a welcome upgrade for Scott fans as the previous Addict Gravel topped out at 45mm.

In turn, the geometry has morphed to match that change, with added reach and a slacker front end pushing the front center significantly further forward. To further meet the modern moment, the Addict Gravel has also dropped the bottom bracket and kept the chainstays short, with Scott hoping to add stability from the low bottom bracket and the nimble handling characteristics from the short chainstays.

While we will be digging into the Scott Addict Gravel with a full review later this fall, here are some of the key details:

The Scott Addict Gravel was last updated in 2021 and brought Scott’s unique racing flair to the gravel market, with clean lines, integrated cockpits, and aggressive racing geometry. In the five years since, Scott has been consistently at or near the top of podiums of top-level gravel racing with the Addict Gravel, culminating in Cam Jones winning the 2025 Unbound Gravel on the frame.

The road DNA of the bike was in the name, as Scott gave its gravel bike the same Addict distinction as the road bike. Nevertheless, gravel racing has changed since 2021, and it no longer suits gravel bikes that lean too far towards the road category.

The most obvious limitation of the previous Addict is the 45mm max clearance. That is far below what current racing demands. It was enough for Jones at Unbound in 2025, but there were signs even last year that Scott was in need of an upgrade.

While the 32-inch bike that Jones and Gemperle rode at Unbound is not the model that Scott is bringing to market, it could be that part of the rationale behind Scott running the 32-inch prototype in the open was to avoid running the old bike at the race. This update—even if literally bigger things could be coming soon—was much needed.

Dutifully, the new Scott Addict Gravel delivers first and foremost with bigger tires. The 57mm of clearance for the front and rear of the bike is a full 12mm shift from the previous model and puts the Scott in a rare collection of gravel bikes that exceed 55mm of stated tire clearance.

Whereas the previous Addict Gravel was a bike that was billed as a gravel bike that remained close to key road bike characteristics, the added clearance changes that calculus. Scott has made the choice to significantly shift the geometry of the bike’s front end forward.

To start, the new Addict Gravel has 10mm longer reach and 10mm more stack. To retain the same fit, Scott has adjusted the stem lengths of the bike shorter, but the changes don’t stop there. The head tube angle and fork have also pivoted to a longer, more stable layout. The head tube is now 70 degrees across all sizes while the fork rake is 10mm longer at 60mm throughout.

60mm is one of the larger fork offsets, and Scott is pairing that rake with that head tube to try to better meet the demands of 50-55mm tires, setting up a trail figure of 69mm for the bike with 55mm tires.

That trail figure, which is around 4mm longer than the previous Addict Gravel with 45mm tires, is indicative of Scott’s priority to not only make its new gravel race bike hold bigger tires, but to do it with a front end that offers steering that matches the characteristics of that increased tire volume at the expense of handling proficiency with smaller tires on tarmac.

A short, compliant rear to round out the bike

Where Scott has tried to retain some of the old Addict Gravel’s identity is through the rear of the bike. Most notably, despite a much longer front center, the new Addict Gravel has the same 425 mm chainstays as the previous version of the bike.

Why try and keep the same chainstay length despite packing in 12mm more tire clearance and a much longer front end? Good question.

Scott argues, like many other companies that have produced new gravel bikes in 2026, that the desire to retain a short chainstay is meant to preserve the bike’s aesthetics as well as keep the bike nimble and responsive. To achieve this change to much bigger tires while keeping the same short chainstays, Scott has gone to great lengths to engineer very thin, strong chainstays, down to a mere 8.5mm at its narrowest.

To create more balance with that tight rear-end, Scott has also dropped the bottom bracket. While the previous Scott Addict Gravel was conservative with a 71 bottom bracket drop, the new Addict Gravel has pushed that measurement down to 78-80.

The other key elements of change to the frame is more compliance, especially around the rear triangle of the frame. Scott touts the smaller rear triangle, a shortened area where the seat tube and post intersect, and the bowed shape of the seat stays all work together for a rear end that is 60 percent more compliant than the previous addict.

The front end also has some baked-in compliance features. The fork shares the bow shape of the seat stays, improving compliance by 30% at the handlebars compared to the previous Addict Gravel. All of this costs some horizontal frame stiffness—Scott says the bike is 5% less stiff—but that was all part of the intention to move the gravel bike towards gravel’s more compliant future.

Despite the new Addict Gravel having new geometry and bigger clearance, Scott has still managed to cut a few grams from the total frame weight compared to the old frame.

With the HMX carbon layup, Scott’s premium offering, the frame weighs in at 794 grams, a 75g reduction from its predecessor. Similarly, the HMF carbon layup sits at 990 grams, a 25g improvement from its counterpart.

Full bike build weights range from 8.4kg (18.5lb) to 9.7kg (21.4lb).

Scott Addict Gravel build details and options

As with all Scott bikes, the Addict Gravel will use a full collection of Syncros components. In fact, the Addict Gravel will have broad compatibility with more than just the stock cockpits and seat post. That means that the new bike will be compatible with the componentry from the Addict and Addict RC, which gives the rider flexibility between the established road line-up of products and the new gravel-specific options.

That said, the bike does have its own line of components built for the bike itself, starting with the cockpit. The new one-piece Syncros gravel cockpit has the desired dimensions to match the new bike’s longer reach. The bars have a forward sweep to allow for more clearance in the drops, while the bar itself has a shorter reach to compensate for those changes.

The bike also uses the same Syncros D-shaped seatpost from previous Scott offerings, which allows the rider to swap to the post with an integrated light.

The Addict Gravel comes with a few additional features, as well. There are a slew of features that are more standard, like the down tube storage hatch and a dedicated frame bag with sleek mounts to match, but also some more unique attributes. To start, the bike has fork mounts for bottles, but not in the way you would expect. Instead of alongside the fork, the bolts are situated on the rear of each fork blade. Not only does this offer a sleeker design, it also handles the added bulk of the bottles better since the weight is closer to the steering axis of the bike.

To cap it off, the Addict Gravel uses T25 throughout its accessories, standardizing adjustments. They also sneak in a correctly sized T25 tool to one of the bar plugs to add more convenience. The other plug comes stock with a flat repair kit, as well.
