Vans’ Posh & Punk Old Skool sneaker gets a Tweed upgrade

Tweed, a fixture of the fashion world, sure. Skate sneakers, though? Not so much. At least not traditionally.

But Vans loves to disrupt the status quo, and who better a partner in crime for said disruptive endeavors than Scottish wool-maker Harris Tweed?

For their latest link-up, Vans and Harris Tweed created an Old Skool 36 sneaker that looks like a stylistic mix of all the cool, subversive punk vibes circulating the brand’s ether right now.

Tweed paneling makes up the majority of the upper, while navy leather lands at the toe and eyelets for some enhanced luxury. Multi-colored rhinestones and decorative peace signs that look like something you’d find in a Camden Town estate sale.

When it comes to edgy Vans sneakers, tweed is always in style, but this specific iteration makes for quite the fall shoe.

This genre of posh and grimy sneakers has become a hallmark of the Vans name as of late, thanks in large part to Greg Betty’s contributions with the Chanel-inspired Souvenir sneaker, which effectively put glam grunge on the map.

Now, sneakers like the woven blue Harris Tweed Old Skool exist in tandem with Vans’ growing multiverse of glitzy grime stunners.
