Artists are being encouraged to put themselves forward for a public art project.

Torridge District Council has asked for expressions of interest from people keen to create an original artwork for and about Westward Ho! in Devon.

The council said expressions of interest deadline was 5 October, after which three artists would be shortlisted and receive a pitch fee for an outline concept.

Councillor Claire Hodson said the piece of art “has the potential to become a valued landmark in the village, fostering pride among residents and offering a fresh cultural experience for our visitors”.
