Miguel is speaking out about the harassment, threats and racism he and his family are facing.

The R&B singer posted a lengthy statement to social media on Friday (Aug. 28), describing how he and his family have been subjected to racism, threats, stalking, false allegations and an invasion of privacy. He also said there have been “anti-Asian attacks” directed at his partner Margaret Zhang, who is currently pregnant with the couple’s second child.

“Over the past year, my family and the people i love have been subjected to racism, harassment, stalking, invasions of privacy, and false allegations,” the Grammy-winning singer wrote. “Recent racist and anti-Asian attacks directed at my partner – including comments and DMs, as well as abusive comments about my child – crossed a line that should require no explanation.”

Miguel said he understands he will be open to certain aspects of criticism when it comes to his career as a public figure but believes a line has been crossed when it seeps into his family life and private affairs.

“People can have opinions about me. about the music. about the work. I accept the realities that come with doing anything in public,” he added. “But racism, threats, harassment, stalking, invasions of privacy, and targeting of children are abuse. not opinion.”

The 40-year-old continued: “It doesn’t become acceptable because someone dresses it up as criticism, fandom, speculation, or ‘concern.’ responsibility also lies with organizations and individuals that knowingly amplify or enable racism, harassment, or false allegations for attention and engagement. if you participate in this behavior, you are not supporting me. you are not part of this community.”

The “Adorn” singer explained that legal action will be taken against those who continue to attack his family.

“Where legal and ethical lines have been crossed, action has been and will continue to be taken,” Miguel stated. “To everyone who has treated my family with kindness, dignity, and respect: we see you. we deeply appreciate you.”

The jarring post struck a chord with Miguel’s IG following, as an outpouring of support flooded his comment section. “Overwhelmed reading your comments of support loved ones, thank you,” he responded.

Miguel and Zhang, who is the former editor-in-chief of Vogue China, welcomed a son, Angel, in 2024, and are expecting a second child.

On the music front, Miguel released his CAOS album in October 2025.
