Nike’s Luxe Air Max 90 Does Its Best Tiempo Impression

The FIFA World Cup may be over, but Nike’s soccer sneakers are still thriving. Enter the new black Air Max 90 dressed like a soccer cleat.

The model looks luxe in its soccer uniform, admittedly. It appears with buttery quilted leather toe boxes, mimicking the style of classic soccer shoes (the Tiempo was said to be on the moodboard). However, towards the back, you’ll notice the more traditional AM90 construction, albeit with better materials.

Nike’s Air Max 90 also keeps its signature platformed Air soles, finished in brown gum rubber, again leaning into that soccer-ish side.

Between the grippy soles and quilted design, it’s practically ready for the field. But let’s be real: it looks too good for even an impromptu game with the guys.

Again, Nike continues to push pretty impressive mashup soccer sneakers post-World Cup. It recently revealed a new textured Air Max Joga Bonito, as well as a soccer-coded leather Air Max 95, which looks more futuristic than field-worthy.

Now, it’s blessing the streets with these nice-looking, soccer-style Air Max 90s, which are expected to drop on Nike’s website during the colder seasons.
