“The Susquehanna River Valley has earned its place on the gravel cycling stage, thanks to its stunning landscapes, varied and challenging terrain, and exceptional events like unPAved of the Susquehanna River Valley,” says Judy Machesic, Executive Director of Susquehanna River Valley Visitors Bureau. “It has been a joy to watch this event evolve over the years—introducing riders from across the country to our region’s gravel scene while connecting them with the broader Susquehanna River Valley experience. Pre-ride activities on Friday and Saturday bring our local community closer to the sport and give athletes a meaningful introduction to everything we love and value about this region.”

Race for Whoopie Pies

For those who want a place on the podium and part of a $3,000 cash purse, there’s the Full-130 course, battled out over four timed segments that add up to 59 total gravel miles (45% of the full route). And if that’s not enough, the Big Lick-200 is there for the ultra endurance folks who prefer to race through the night.

Ride at Pierogies Pace

Just looking for the vibes and the views? Four choose-your-own-adventure courses range from just over 50 miles to the Full-130 at a civilized pace and lower price. In 2026, two new courses joined the lineup, 40 and 70 miles, for Pierogi Pacers, starting and finishing at the Rusty Rail Brewing Company in Mifflinburg, PA.

Have a SlumberPArty

If you’re all about gravelmaxxing the weekend our SlumberPArty gives you two days to ride the course. Roll out on Saturday, camp overnight at R.B. Winter State Park, and finish the course with the other riders Sunday. The event will even ferry your gear to and from camp.

Weekend Full of Activities

unPAved has grown from a single-day event into a full three-day weekend. Gatherings kick off on Friday night, and Saturday brings the Lewisburg Fall Festival with FUNpaved Rides, vendors, crafters, and kids’ activities, followed by the unPAved Film Festival at the historic Campus Theatre in downtown Lewisburg. The Susquehanna River Valley doesn’t just host the race, it shows up for it.
