New ‘Grand Theft Auto 6’ footage and gameplay map has reportedly leaked

The leaked content may or may not be genuine

Grand Theft Auto 6 has reportedly been hit with another leak, just over a week ahead of its Extended Look drop.

The leak, which may or may not be legitimate, purports to show one of the game’s protagonists, Jason, enjoying life at his ocean view home – he gets to shoot a few basketball hoops, and there’s gym equipment on his balcony.

Another clip shows Jason behind the wheel of a car, attacking an NPC. Perhaps most notably of all, the leak also seems to include a complete map of Leonida, GTA‘s fictional home which is modelled on Florida. The footage has been shared widely on social media.

The apparent leak comes shortly before an Extended Look at the game is due to premiere on Netflix at 8pm on August 27. Though the Extended Look will be released more widely at 2am the following morning, Rockstar Games’ decision to lock it behind a streaming paywall to begin with has angered some GTA fans.

This isn’t the first time that GTA6‘s rollout has been hit by leaks. At the start of the year, Rockstar fired a number of staff after accusing them of sharing confidential information with the public. And back in 2022, a British teenager was arrested for hacking Rockstar and leaking over one hours-worth of development footage for Grand Theft Auto 6.

Some fans were worried that the physical version of Grand Theft Auto 6 would be delayed in an attempt to stop further leaks but Take Two boss Strauss Zelnick has debunked that rumour.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is set for release on November 19 – and new figures suggest that the vast majority of fans are preordering the more expensive Ultimate edition instead of the cheaper Standard edition. Earlier this year, Rockstar confirmed it would be making several in-game features exclusive to the more expensive Ultimate version.
