Olympic champion Alex Ferreira, Paralympic medalist Noah Elliott, and a group of Colorado snow-sports pioneers will be honored this fall at the 2026 Colorado Snowsports Hall of Fame Celebration in Beaver Creek, Colorado. Ferreira, the Aspen-born halfpipe skier who completed his Olympic medal collection with gold at Milano Cortina 2026, has been named the recipient of the Mikaela Shiffrin Colorado Competitor of the Year Award.

The Colorado Snowsports Museum and Hall of Fame announced its 2026 annual award recipients and incoming Hall of Fame class ahead of the celebration, which will take place October 10, 2026, in Beaver Creek. The event will recognize athletes, advocates and organizations that have made significant contributions to Colorado’s snow-sports community.
Alex Ferreira Completes Olympic Medal Set
Ferreira has spent more than a decade at the forefront of men’s halfpipe skiing, combining technical progression with an unmistakable competitive style. The 31-year-old Aspen native finally completed his Olympic medal collection at the 2026 Winter Olympics, winning gold in men’s halfpipe after previously earning silver at PyeongChang 2018 and bronze at Beijing 2022.
His Olympic gold adds to a résumé that includes nine X Games medals, including three golds, four Dew Tour Championships and four FIS Crystal Globes. Ferreira has also become one of the most recognizable personalities in freestyle skiing and a prominent representative of Colorado’s long history of producing elite snow-sports athletes.
His award is named after another Colorado skiing superstar, Mikaela Shiffrin, and recognizes the state’s top competitor of the year.
Noah Elliott Named Adaptive Athlete of the Year
Para snowboarder Noah Elliott will receive the Hall of Fame’s Adaptive Athlete of the Year Award following another dominant season.
Elliott won two medals at the 2026 Paralympic Winter Games, taking gold in banked slalom and silver in snowboard cross in the LL1 classification. His 2025–26 World Cup season was equally impressive. Elliott recorded six victories and five additional podium finishes, winning the overall, banked slalom and snowboard cross Crystal Globes. The three titles marked his third consecutive overall Crystal Globe. A three-time Paralympian and three-time World Champion, Elliott now has two Paralympic gold medals and nine World Championship medals.
Elliott lives in Colorado Springs and previously lived, worked and trained in Steamboat Springs.
More 2026 Award Winners
The Hall of Fame’s annual awards also recognize contributions outside elite competition.
Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center (BOEC) will receive the Top of the Hill Award for its nearly five decades of work expanding access to Colorado’s mountains. Founded in 1976, BOEC has become a national leader in adaptive skiing and snowboarding, helping people with disabilities experience Colorado’s mountains through specialized equipment, instructors and programs. The organization is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
Ron Mooney will receive the Museum Lifetime Achievement Award.
Mooney spent decades working as a sportswriter, covering eight Olympic Games and numerous World Cups, before becoming a guide and historian for the Colorado Snowsports Museum. For nearly a decade, he has helped expand the Museum’s tours, educational programs and community outreach while serving as an emcee for numerous events.
The collegiate awards will go to Louison Accambray and Fabio Allasina, both of the University of Colorado.
Accambray, a former French National Team alpine skier from La Clusaz, France, reached the podium in all 15 races she completed during her sophomore season, winning six races and earning First-Team All-America honors.
Allasina, an Italian alpine skier from Frassino, Italy, arrived at CU after competing with the Italian National Team and winning five Italian Junior Championship titles. He recorded multiple top-five finishes in collegiate slalom and giant slalom during the 2026 season.
The four Boulder-connected honorees — Trent Bush, Chris Pappas, Accambray and Allasina — will give the 2026 celebration a particularly strong connection to the city and its snow-sports community.
2026 Hall of Fame Class
The Colorado Snowsports Museum will also induct its newest Hall of Fame members during the October celebration.

The inductees represent different parts of Colorado’s snow-sports history, from industry and advocacy to resort leadership and the development of skiing in the state.
The celebration comes during the Colorado Snowsports Museum’s 50th anniversary year. Founded in 1975 and located in Vail, the Museum serves as Colorado’s official snow-sports museum and preserves the history of skiing and snowboarding in the state.
