Beldersoy Resort and Spa officially opened for business this summer. The Hyatt destination, located less than a two-hour drive from the capital of Tashkent, is the first premier mountain resort of its kind in Uzbekistan.

Sitting at an elevation of over 1,585 meters (5,200 feet), high on the slopes of Mount Kumbel within Ugam-Chatkal National Park, Beldersoy offers visitors a five-star luxury alpine experience, complete with convenient access to a slew of nearby outdoor recreation activities, including several regional premier ski resorts.

It sits directly adjacent to Beldersoy Ski Resort, a Soviet-era hill that features a 3-kilometer (1.9-mile) continuous run spanning over 765 meters (2,500 feet) of vertical drop. Amirsoy, widely regarded as Uzbekistan’s best ski resort thanks to its 15 kilometers (9.3 miles) of piste and modern lift infrastructure, is also nearby, just an 18-kilometer (11-mile) drive from Beldersoy Resort and Spa.

The property itself features 109 mountain-inspired rooms, as well as 36 luxury villas. Within the rooms, guests will find earth-toned color schemes, a broad use of natural materials, and hand-crafted local artwork, which highlight and complement the resort’s unique cultural and environmental surroundings. The nature retreat is complete with two full-service restaurants, five distinct pools, and numerous health and wellness amenities.

This marks Hyatt’s first Destination by Hyatt property in the region, as the brand seeks to capitalize on a booming, if still-adolescent, Central Asian mountain tourism industry. Michel Morauw, managing director of Hyatt EAME North, said in a Hyatt newsroom press release: “I look forward to welcoming guests to our first Destination by Hyatt hotel in the region and delivering wellness experiences rooted in nature and holistic wellbeing, creating an ideal retreat for those seeking to truly escape and unwind.”

While a stay at Beldersoy may sound reserved for the ultra-wealthy, eager luxury seekers may be surprised to hear that rooms at the property can be had for as little as $200 a night. So those wishing to scratch the Central Asia travel bug without sacrificing comfort may want to turn to Hyatt’s newest destination resort while it remains under the radar.
