Oasis are selling versions of Liam Gallagher’s iconic jacket and Noel’s jumper for Knebworth 30th anniversary

The new merch also arrives amid rumours that the Britpop icons could be returning for more shows in 2027

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of their iconic Knebworth gigs, Oasis have launched a new range of merchandise, including replicas of the jacket worn by Liam Gallagher and the jumper worn by Noel at the shows.

The new collection marks the Britpop icons playing two massive concerts at Knebworth in 1996, which sold out in under 24 hours and welcomed 250,000 fans across both nights.

There were reportedly 2.6million people scrambling to get tickets for the dates – roughly five per cent of the entire UK population – and the demand was so high that they could have sold out 20 nights at the venue.

The band later released a live album from the shows and later celebrated the 25th anniversary with a feature-length documentary, which went on to become the country’s highest-grossing documentary film of 2021. In 2022, Liam played two solo shows there.

Now, to mark the 30th anniversary, Oasis have released a new range of merchandise which makes a nod to the shows. There is a cotton t-shirt that simply reads “Knebworth” alongside the band logo, there is also a Navy crossbody bag. The former is available to buy on August 28, and the bag is available from October 7.

In the collection, there is also a replica of the striped jumper worn by Noel Gallagher during the first of the two shows. It is on offer from September 25, and is nearly identical to the white jumper worn by Noel on stage, which featured navy and red stripes.

Another part of the collection is a replica of the white safari jacket worn by Liam Gallagher, also on night one. A description of the item says that it is made from 100 per cent cotton, and has a “traditional four-pocket utility layout with secure button-flap closures, ivory-coloured buttons and matching belt buckle”. That is priced at £100 and available from October 23.

August 10 marked exactly 30 years since the first of the two 1996 shows, and to mark the occasion, Oasis fans shared footage and memories from the gig. NME was at one of the shows 30 years ago and wrote at the time: “Oasis’ double header at Maine Road months earlier was arguably a better gig but Knebworth felt like an era defining event. It was so colossal it was ridiculous. Even guitarist Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs admitted that the band should have quit following their huge outdoor shows, knowing that it really couldn’t get any better than this.”

The new range of Knebworth-inspired merch arrives as there is speculation about Oasis returning to the UK village for more shows.

Earlier this month, the promoter of Oasis’ huge ‘Live ‘25’ tour was granted a licence to host gigs at Knebworth – making rumours of a comeback more likely.

Before then, rumours emerged that Oasis were looking to follow up their huge 2025 reunion tour with another run of UK and European dates in 2027. Among the dates speculated were a 12-night homecoming residency in Manchester and a return to Knebworth.

There have been rumours of a return to the Hertfordshire space circulating since 2025 too – dating back to when a British peer stood up in the House of Lords’ upper house last year and claimed that Liam and Noel Gallagher would be playing five, back-to-back anniversary gigs there in 2026. She would later backtrack on the comments.

As well as rumours of a return to Knebworth, a number of sources “close” to Man City have claimed that there could be 12 shows planned for the Etihad Stadium. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but if residency shows are announced, it seems likely that dates would take place in May and June, as the team’s fixture list for 2026/2027 means that their last home game is on May 23.

While more shows are only speculated at time of writing, Oasis are set to release a new Steven Knight-directed documentary next month, and the first trailer dropped earlier this summer.

Don’t Look Back In Anger will be released in cinemas and on IMAX on September 11, before becoming available to stream on Disney+ and Hulu around the world at a later date in 2026.
