‘Sonic’, ‘Tetris’ and more classic games are coming to ‘Fortnite’
The ‘Override’ event kicks off next week
Fortnite’s Override event is set to begin next week (August 20) with a number of iconic gaming franchises joining the hit online shooter.

Earlier this month, Epic Games confirmed that Fortnite Chapter 7, Season 4 will be called Override and launches August 20.
“Break the rules. Change the game,” is the tagline of the event, with the logo featuring glitching computer graphics.

This week, a nine-second teaser confirmed Sonic The Hedgehog and the iconic Green Hill Zone would be coming to Fortnite as part of the new season. The clip also featured a glimpse of a Tetris block in the background. On Wednesday (August 12), that crossover was confirmed with another short video.

Since then, Epic Games has confirmed the world of Persona will be colliding with Fortnite as part of the event, and teased collabs with Pac-Man and Kingdom Hearts. Crash Bandicoot and Mega Man have also been rumoured. Fans can expect more teasers over the coming days before the Fortnite Override event goes live August 20.

At the end of last month, The Simpsons returned to Fortnite as part of their latest Reload chapter. The original collab saw more than 80million people log in over the course of the six-week event. It was also announced that rapper Lil Tecca would be the latest headline act of rhythm game Fortnite Festival.
“I’m always trying to get new fans and introduce people to what might be their new favourite artist, so this is a great opportunity [to do that],” he told NME. “I also want people that have already been listening to my music to see me, a fellow Fortnite player, in the game and it move them. I want to inspire [someone to become] the next Lil Tecca.”
In other news former Svalbard vocalist Serena Cherry has announced her second solo album as Noctule – and it’s inspired by Elden Ring.
