What Hestra Is Putting Up

Winner #1 takes home a pair of Hestra Fall Line gloves, MSRP $190. These are my go-to daily-driver gloves. The Fall Line is the short-cuff leather glove you find on the hands of skiers who care about feeling their pole grip. It uses my favorite under-the-cuff fit, neoprene closure, fleece lining, and enough dexterity to work a rope, adjust a binding, or frantically dig through a pack without pulling them off. It is a glove built around control instead of bulk.

Winner #2 gets a pair of Hestra Army Leather Heli Ski gloves, MSRP $185. This is the one you have seen on guides, patrollers, and heli operations for decades. Gauntlet cuff, army leather palm, removable liner, and a reputation for lasting long enough that people get sentimental about them. This is the glove you bust out when the sh#t hits the fan. This glove is for big cold, big weather, big mountains. I use it in Canada in December and January when temps can hit -40°F, which just happens to also be -40°C.

Why Hestra

Hestra started way back in 1936, when Martin Magnusson set up a workshop in the timber forests of Småland, Sweden, and started making gloves for lumberjacks working through short, brutal Scandinavian winter days. 90 years later, Hestra is still based in that same small town, still run by the Magnusson family, now in its 4th generation, and still making epic gloves and not much else.

That focus shows. They turn out more than 2 million pairs a year across roughly 450 models, sell in more than 40 countries, and still run their own factories.

SnowBrains Trips is being built around real skiing, and Hestra is a partner who we know firsthand makes damn good gear.

What You Have to Do

Take the SnowBrains Trips survey. It takes about 2 minutes.

We are building hosted, small group ski trips for SnowBrains readers this winter, and we’re not picking the destinations – you are. The survey asks where you want to go, when you can travel, and what kind of trip you actually want. Lake Tahoe, Jackson Hole, Revelstoke, the Alps, South America, New Zealand. Tell us everything.

Everyone who completes the survey is entered to win.
