A son has died and his mother has been injured after a tree fell onto their car on Mount Buller Road near Mount Buller Resort, Victoria, Australia, on Monday morning, August 10. The mother was driving her son toward the alpine resort when the tree fell onto the vehicle at approximately 9:15 a.m., according to Victoria Police. The tree reportedly crashed through the car’s windscreen.
“The male passenger who is yet to be formally identified, sadly died at the scene,” Victoria Police said in a press release on Monday morning.
The female driver was taken to hospital with injuries that police described as non-life-threatening. Local reports indicate she was transported to Wangaratta Hospital.
Emergency services, including Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria Advanced Life Support paramedics, responded to the incident.
