Travis Scott has officially released the self-directed music video for “When I’m Home,” his featured track from director Christopher Nolan’s new film The Odyssey. Created alongside James Blake and composer Ludwig Göransson, the visual arrives one week after the movie’s global theatrical premiere.

In the film, Scott makes an on-screen appearance as a Bard reciting ancient oral epics. Speaking on the casting choice, Nolan explained that rap serves as a contemporary analogue to ancient oral poetry. During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Scott expressed his immediate enthusiasm for joining the project alongside a cast that includes Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, and Lupita Nyong’o.

In a separate interview with Variety, the Houston rapper reflected on his initial exposure to Homer’s epic as an eighth-grader, recalling how his teacher Bernice Webster assigned it for summer reading. “She made me do an essay on the book, and I did some CliffsNotes bullshit,” Scott revealed. “I got a whoopin’ because I lied about reading it… She’s like, ‘See? That’s why I made you read that book; now you’re in this movie. It’s actually crazy.’”
