VIDEO: The Cheating at This Bike Race Is So Blatant It’s Hilarious

When cyclists cheat at Tour de Guadeloupe, they don’t take half measures.

Two riders were caught clinging to a speeding team car as they attempted to regain contact with the peloton on stage 4 of the Caribbean stage race.

Images captured by the X user “Whatsapp Antillaise” show Nicholas Narraway and Jacquet Cretides riders taking a very long, very fast tow from a Competitive Edge team car on Monday’s stage to Lamentin.

And the funny thing is, Cretides doesn’t even ride for Competitive Edge, a U.S. Conti team. The French rider races with Uni Sport Lamentinois.

Narraway maybe has some excuse – at least it was his own team car. The Bermudan rider joined team Competitive Edge this season.

Cretides did not make it to the finish of Monday’s stage in Guadeloupe, but was officially DQ’d by commissaires.

Narraway finished the stage but was also booted from the race.

The official UCI communique from the stage also reveals both riders were fined 100 CHF and docked 25 UCI points.

The DS of the Competitive Edge team car, Christopher Drummond, was also sanctioned 100 CHF. The team car was excluded from the race in the following fifth stage.

Two years, two audacious attempts to cheat

It seems like Tour de Guadeloupe and cheating controversies go hand in hand.

Two Dutch riders were caught making an even more audacious attempt to circumvent the rules in the 2025 edition.

Last year, Niels Tenniglo and Huub Van Kapel were caught hiding behind a parked car before they attempted to sneak into the peloton when the race zoomed back through.

The 10-day, 2.2-ranked Tour de Guadeloupe features a mix of regional and club-level squads.

Competitive Edge Racing is based out of Massachusetts. The squad includes a men’s, women’s, and CX team.

There was no immediate response from the teams or riders involved in Monday’s incident.
