Mermaid Brush
Handcrafted in Korea, the so-called Mermaid Brush uses boar bristles and nylon pins to gently detangle hair while helping to tame flyaways and control frizz.
Stephen then used the brush on Zendaya’s wet hair to section it out, while adding a dab of gel throughout. “The brush really allows you to get the sleekest look possible,” the hairstylist says, adding that the Bur Bur Bristle Brush helps “to smooth and slick the hair to the head.”
From there, Stephen blow dried everything in place and finished it off with a “hold and shine spray” to keep everything set. “This look,” she says, “was all about the drama.”
The same brush Stephen used on Zendaya is available online for just $72 on the Bur Bur website. In addition to styling and detangling, the company says the perfectly placed bristles also help to “distribute natural oils for sleek, healthy hair.” The handle is made from real beech wood, while a rubber cushion pad adds flexibility.
Growing Season Oil + Mermaid Brush
You can also get the Mermaid Brush in a bundle, with Bur Bur’s “Growing Season Hair Oil,” which helps to support hair growth, while adding strength, shine and softness. The brush, meantime, helps to evenly distribute the product as you apply it to your hair and scalp.
This was Stephen and Zendaya’s third time partnering with Bur Bur, and the second time on the Spider-Man press tour. The new Marvel film reunites Zendaya with husband Tom Holland, who portrays Peter Parker as he deals with the aftermath of Doctor Strange’s memory-wiping spell. The film hits theaters July 31.
