Later this week (July 30), season 25 of Fortnite Festival will go live with Lil Tecca as the headline artist. He’s the first rap artist to have Festival season since Snoop Dogg at the start of 2024.

As part of the event, four Lil Tecca jam tracks have been added to the game – ‘Ransom’, ‘Dark Thoughts’, ‘Love Me’ and ‘500lbs’.

“The Neon Dreams Music Pass unlocks new Festival gear, like the music-reactive Tour Ready Lil Tecca Outfit, the Mic Mace Pickaxe, Tecca’s World Back Bling, and the Dopamine Tour-inspired guitar,” reads a blog post from Epic Games. “Over in the item shop, grab the Lil Tecca Outfit, which includes the Ransom Toon alt style. You can also pick up the Mic Stand inspired by his ‘We Love You Tecca’ album cover, the Dopamine Blades Pickaxe, the Dark Thoughts Emote that flashes in sync with the melody, and more.

“I’m online all day. Come 1v1 me,” Tecca wrote on Instagram.

Lil Tecca started making rap music after rapping with friends over Xbox Live and last year, he released his fifth album ‘Dopamine’ which was inspired by Grand Theft Auto: Vice City’s Fever Flash FM radio station.

Speaking to NME about her Festival takeover, Laufey said: “Fortnite is just so fantastical. It’s something that you’d never see in real life but if you closed your eyes while listening to my music, it’s the world you might dream up. It’s uber romantic and very expressionist, in a way. I want to encourage my fans to be the biggest version of themselves. Inside a video game, you’re free to be the most [authentic] version of yourself and not feel like you’re being judged.”

In other news, Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil movie trailer has sparked a debate over “faithful” game adaptations online.
