Tadej Pogačar dominated the 2026 Tour de France, and he and his UAE Team Emirates-XRG team also dominated the final prize money list. Pogačar’s success ensured he won €611,980 of the €2.3 million prize pot, with UAE taking home a total of €832,750 across the 21 days of racing.

Pogačar earned €500,000 for winning the Tour and more for his five stage victories and sixteen days in the leader’s yellow jersey. He earned more than double second-placed Remco Evenepoel (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe), who earned €247,800. Isaac del Toro earned €155,450 for his third place overall.

The prize money reflected Pogačar’s dominance in the race and his final 6:26 winning margin on Evenepoel. Pogačar will surely also earn significant bonuses from his UAE team and sponsors, while the prize money will be shared amongst the riders and staff, with perhaps Pogačar giving up his share. He is likely to buy his teammates some kind of gift as a personal thank you.

UAE’s haul of €832,750 was more than three times the €288,160 amount won by Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe. Lidl-Trek collected €204,870 thanks to Mads Pedersen’s green jersey, his stage win, their team prize and the sixth and seventh GC placings by Mattias Skjelmose and Juan Ayuso. Quinn Simmons also added to their prize pot, with a final €3,000 for the best teammate prize of the 2026 Tour.

The less successful team earned far less, underlining the limited prize money in pro cycling compared to other sports, with only five teams earning more than €100,000. Picnic PostNL finished bottom of the 23-team list with €12,770 earned for three weeks of record-breaking speed racing.

L’Equipe did a full breakdown of the prize money, highlighting how Mads Pedersen earned €69,290 and finished seventh in the prize money standings as he completed his Grand Tour triptych of green jersey victories.
