KPop Demon Hunters has been watched more than twice as many times as Netflix‘s next most popular film, according to their own viewing reports.

The animated musical has accumulated 648.7million views across Netflix’s What We Watched reports, putting it comfortably ahead of second-placed The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which has been viewed 271.7million times.

The figures were compiled by Deadline from four years of the streaming service’s engagement data, beginning with the second half of 2023 and continuing through to the first half of 2026.

The ranking is separate from Netflix’s official Most Popular list, which measures the number of views a film receives during its first 91 days on the platform. Instead, the new list combines the views recorded for each title across all of the streamer’s six-monthly What We Watched reports.

The scale of KPop Demon Hunters’ lead underlines the continued popularity of the film more than a year after its release. It amassed a further 130million views during the first half of 2026 alone, making it Netflix’s fourth most-watched film during that period.

The film follows fictional K-pop trio HUNTR/X – Rumi, Mira and Zoey – who balance their careers as global music stars with their secret lives as demon hunters. They face competition from the Saja Boys, a rival boyband who are secretly working for the demon king Gwi-Ma.

KPop Demon Hunters became Netflix’s most-watched film of all time in August 2025, when it overtook the action-comedy Red Notice. Its success was further boosted by the soundtrack, with ‘Golden’ reaching Number One in both the UK and US.

NME later included ‘Golden’ among the 50 best songs of 2025, praising the track’s “melodic potency” and its ability to stand out amid the year’s abundance of viral hits.

The film has since inspired sold-out singalong screenings, a McDonald’s collaboration, a forthcoming Criterion Blu-ray and plans for a global concert tour. A sequel has also been confirmed, although it is not currently expected to arrive until 2029.

Elsewhere in the ranking, animated family films dominate, with The Boss Baby, Minions, Sing, The Grinch, Shrek and The Secret Life Of Pets all appearing in the top 11.

Netflix productions account for seven of the top 20. The streamer’s highest-ranked live-action original is the Julia Roberts-led apocalyptic thriller Leave The World Behind at Number Eight, while Adam Sandler’s animated comedy Leo is its closest challenger to KPop Demon Hunters at Number Five.

Other Netflix originals on the list include Damsel, Back In Action, Carry-On, Lift, Rebel Ridge and The Union.

The full top 20 is:

Netflix has now announced that the report covering January to June 2026 will be its final six-month edition. From the first quarter of 2027, the company will instead publish one annual snapshot of viewing figures.
