Meccha me happy.

Meccha Chameleon – the viral hide-and-seek game that sold 10 million copies in just 16 days – has smashed another milestone, topping a staggering 15 million sales in less than a month.

Marking the achievement on the Steam store page, the indie developer said “thanks a million” to its fans, promising “a new collaboration with a famous Japanese star” was coming “next week”.

It’s important to note that not only has the £5.29 game already sold millions of copies, but it’s incredibly popular, too, with over 85 per cent of its 45,300+ Steam reviewers leaving a thumbs-up.

Meccha Chameleon is the latest in a string of delightful social co-op games, following in the footsteps of the likes of REPO, Lethal Company, and Among Us. Like those games before it, Meccha Chameleon is being sold for a relatively low price compared to many of the triple-A offerings. It’s currently available for £5.29, a fraction of the cost of the 007 First Light for example, which retails for £59.99.

In recognition of the seven million copies sold, the developer behind Meccha Chameleon added a Japan-themed map.
