

After returning to the property for the first time since the Cottonwood Fire reached Eagle Point Resort, Utah, resort officials have released an initial assessment of the damage on social media. While the full extent of the destruction is still being evaluated, the resort said it is grateful that everyone was evacuated safely and that no lives were lost.
The resort also thanked the firefighters, first responders, and community members whose efforts helped protect lives and property during the wildfire.

Damaged areas and property
- Approximately 300 of the resort’s 600 acres of ski terrain were impacted, primarily on the south side of the mountain along Tushar Ridge, known as “The Steeps.”
- Canyonside Lodge, one of the resort’s two day lodges, was destroyed, along with more than 100 condominiums and 30 cabins.
- Four of the resort’s five chairlifts sustained damage, although inspections are still underway to determine the full extent.
- The Warming Station on Tushar Ridge was lost.
- Five snowmobiles, three vehicles, and three storage containers filled with tools were also destroyed.
Areas that remain intact
- Skyline Lodge, the resort’s primary on-mountain facility
- Monarch chairlift and surrounding terrain on the north side of the resort
- Skyline terrain, which saw minimal impact
- Most of the Aspen Crest subdivision, with only limited tree damage
- Snowmaking pond and snowmaking infrastructure
- Cell phone and internet towers
Resort officials emphasized that assessments are still in the early stages and that it will take time to fully understand the scope of the damage. They asked for patience as crews continue evaluating the property and promised to provide additional updates as more information becomes available.
