Sonic’s 35th anniversary mixtape features Daft Punk, Muse and Dua Lipa

The songs are “fit for the Blue Blur himself”

Sega has curated a mixtape to celebrate Sonic The Hedgehog’s 35th anniversary, featuring tracks from Daft Punk, Muse and Dua Lipa.

The original Sonic The Hedgehog game was released June 23, 1991 for the Sega Mega Drive and to celebrate his 35th birthday, Sega have shared a custom playlist.

“Keep the party going with the all-new Sonic 35th Birthday Mix on Spotify with tracks fit for the Blue Blur himself,” they wrote on social media. The 35-track mixtape features Dua Lipa’s ‘Levitating’, Muse’s ‘Knights Of Cydonia’ and ‘One More Time’ by Daft Punk. 

The playlist also features songs by The White Stripes, Gorillaz and AC/DC as well as Eiffel 65’s iconic ‘Blue (Da Ba Dee)’. Check out the full thing below:

Sega is set to celebrate the music of Sonic The Hedgehog with a new live tour. The ‘Sonic Live In Concert’ tour will feature “the most recognisable music” from the past 35 years of Sonic The Hedgehog games performed by a live ensemble, rock musicians and vocalists. The run of shows kicks off later this year and will continue through 2027.

In other news, Grand Theft Auto 6 pre-orders went live this morning (June 25) and fans aren’t impressed that several features are only available if you buy the more expensive Ultimate version.
