New Zealand’s Alice Robinson has officially joined the HEAD Worldcup Rebels team, marking one of the most highly anticipated equipment changes ahead of the 2026-27 World Cup season. HEAD confirmed the signing of the 24-year-old on June 12, describing Robinson as “one of the most accomplished and versatile racers on the women’s World Cup circuit.”

The move ends six weeks of speculation about Robinson’s equipment future after she announced her departure from Salomon, ending a four-year partnership. “Thank you, Salomon,” Robinson wrote on social media at the time. “The past four years with this team have meant a lot to me. I’m incredibly grateful for all the people I’ve met and worked with through such a significant chapter in my career. We’ve shared some amazing results and experiences that I’ll cherish forever. I’m thankful for the belief, commitment, and support through everything this journey has thrown at us.”

In the weeks following her Salomon departure, speculation circulated around a potential move to Van Deer equipment. That speculation is now settled. Robinson will begin competing on HEAD equipment immediately, joining star athletes on Team HEAD Worldcup Rebels such as Lindsey Vonn, Lara Gut-Behrami, Camille Rast, Ryan Cochran-Siegle, and Atle Lie McGrath.

Sydney-born Robinson grew up in Queenstown on New Zealand’s South Island and burst onto the World Cup scene at 17 when she won the giant slalom in Sölden in October 2019 — the first of what are now seven World Cup victories, six in giant slalom and one in super-G. After a difficult period following her early breakthrough, Robinson has rebuilt herself into one of the most consistent performers in the women’s technical and speed disciplines. Last season she challenged for Crystal Globes in both giant slalom and super-G, ultimately finishing second in the super-G standings and claiming silver in the giant slalom at the 2025 World Championships in Saalbach — the best World Championship result of her career.

HEAD Racing Director Rainer Salzgeber said in the official announcement: “Alice Robinson is a brilliant athlete who is willing to take risks and attack the run with a vengeance. I’m very confident that at HEAD we can help her take the next step. It really is a great pleasure to have an athlete like her in the team. Last season, she was a contender for the Crystal Globe in two disciplines: the Super-G and the Giant Slalom. That clearly has to be our mission now. She is still a relatively young athlete. I am looking forward to helping her succeed in this mission over the coming seasons

Robinson is just one of several new athletes added to the HEAD Worldcup Rebels roster ahead of the 2026-27 season. The Austrian-headquartered ski manufacturer — founded in the United States in 1950 and now based in Kennelbach, Austria — had already signed Henrik Kristoffersen and Christof Innerhofer before confirming Robinson’s arrival. HEAD was the most successful ski brand on the World Cup circuit in the 2025-26 season, and the addition of Robinson, Kristoffersen, and Innerhofer adds three powerhouses to the equipment manufacturer’s team.

It sure is shaping up to be an exciting 2026-27 World Cup season!
