The award-winning artist, who worked with and wrote hits for the likes of Britney Spears, Usher, Ellie Goulding, Kelela and Dua Lipa, was stabbed to death, the Metropolitan Police confirmed.
Three people have been arrested on suspicion of murder, according to the Met.
In a tribute on social media, his brother, artist Scribz Riley (real name Michael Orabiyi), said: “My heart is shattered! This doesn’t feel real. It feels like a bad dream. Just before he went to sleep we spoke about the future, staying positive and about everything we still had left to do. I never imagined that would be our last conversation.”
He added his brother was a “friend to many, a mentor, an inspiration, and a light in so many people’s lives. He loved deeply, gave freely, and touched countless people through his talent, kindness, and spirit.”
Tributes have flooded in for Riley, with artists like Stormzy, Paloma Faith and Kehlani sharing their devastation at the news of the artist’s death.
Rapper Wretch 32 wrote: “Sending love to you & your family bro. Your brother was a gem & will be missed & never forgotten, Never! RIP.”
Kehlani wrote: “Big hugs Scribs I’m so sorry”, while Sugababes star Keisha Buchanan said: “Sending my condolences and prayers, so very sorry.”
Detective Chief Inspector Joanna Yorke has said: “Our investigation continues at pace. I would like to appeal for anyone who was in the area at the time of this incident to speak to police.”
