California’s Mammoth Mountain has announced another extension to its 2025–26 ski season, with lifts now scheduled to operate through Sunday, June 7 as late-season snow and cold temperatures continue to preserve conditions on the upper mountain.

The resort said Tuesday that it plans to continue skiing and snowboarding operations “as long as conditions allow,” extending the season further into June following fresh snowfall over Memorial Day weekend and another round of cold weather forecast for the Eastern Sierra this week. The extension comes as many ski areas across North America have already ended operations following a difficult and unusually warm winter in much of the western United States.

Late-Season Snow Keeps Terrain Open

Mammoth received additional snowfall over Memorial Day weekend, helping maintain coverage across higher elevations heading into June. The resort has long been known for operating one of the longest ski seasons in North America thanks to its high elevation, expansive snowmaking infrastructure and ability to preserve snowpack well into spring.

While terrain availability is expected to gradually decrease, Mammoth said lifts will continue spinning daily through at least June 7.

The California resort frequently pushes operations deep into spring and early summer during strong snow years, sometimes remaining open into July or even August during exceptional seasons.

Ski, Bike and Golf in the Same Day

With warmer weather arriving in the Eastern Sierra, Mammoth is also transitioning into its multi-sport summer operations. The resort highlighted opportunities for visitors to ski, mountain bike and golf all in the same day — one of Mammoth’s signature late-spring experiences as snow remains on the upper mountain while summer recreation opens below.

Mammoth is also offering several spring promotions, including free skiing for children who hold a 2025–26 season pass from another ski resort that has already closed for the season.

A Strong Finish to the Season

The extension provides another boost for late-season skiers and snowboarders after inconsistent winter conditions impacted many resorts across the American West during the 2025–26 season.

The resort said additional extensions remain possible depending on snowfall, temperatures and snowpack conditions in the coming weeks.
