Fiat’s future revealed: baby Pandina, Grizzly Pandas and more

Olivier Francois, brand CEO of Fiat, has outlined the brand’s plans on what is described as the ‘sunny road to 2030’ with a range of new models incoming.
‘Fiat remains big at small and committed to urban mobility,’ says Francois. As well as the introduction of the new TRIS – a three-wheeled electric scooter-type delivery vehicle that Francois describes as ‘the cutest object on planet LCV’ – there will also be a larger, more spacious version of the Topolino (pictured in green), which is labelled Quattrolino. ‘It’s a bigger sister to the Topolino,’ says Francois; ‘two doors, four seats.’
A new generation version of the Fiat 500 will arrive, as well as ‘our own version of the E-Car’ that’s currently nicknamed the Pandina. The Pandina is ‘just a sketch’ at the moment, with Francois saying that Fiat’s design team have ‘had a bit of fun’ with students, envisioning the future of Fiat’s small car line-up.
‘The final design [of Pandina] is not the revival of an icon, it’s literally the next icon,’ says Francois.
As well as these small city cars, Fiat has also confirmed the Grizzly. The Grizzly will launch in two body styles and will sit in the larger C-segment; one is a typical SUV-like shape, the other a fastback-style design similar to Peugeot’s 408.
Francois confirms that they are ‘still built on the Smart Car platform’, which is the same architecture used as the Grande Panda; doing so will likely enable Fiat to offer them at a more competitive price than what’s usually considered the norm for the C-segment.
Fiat hasn’t specifically outlined dates for launch just yet, but CAR understands the Grizzly models will launch towards the end of 2026 if not early 2027. We’ll have to wait until 2028 for the production version of the Pandina.
