While the 2025-26 winter season may be over at Colorado’s Copper Mountain, the stoke isn’t fully dead just yet as its hike terrain park is set to open for its summer season on June 5. For skiers and snowboarders, the hike park serves as an offseason opportunity to continue to improve park skills well after the snow has stopped falling.
Copper Mountain is famous for its terrain parks operated by Woodward, an action sports company with locations across North America. Professional skiers and snowboarders from across the world head to Copper Mountain each winter to train on its world-class jumps and rails. During the summer months, Copper Mountain continues to be a hub for park skiers and snowboarders who are not quite ready for their seasons to end.
After Copper Mountain ends its winter operations, it “farms snow” and creates a giant pile in the base area near its Center Village. The pile is then spread out where the superpipe is, creating a 4-acre patch of snow, perfect for a hike park. Woodward then adds a variety of boxes, rails, and jumps to the snow, drawing in park riders from across the region.
Copper Mountain will also host overnight camps throughout the summer, featuring some of the biggest names in skiing and snowboarding. Skier Tom Wallisch and snowboarder Zeb Powell are just a couple of the athletes who will be attending camps at the hike park. Camp attendees will receive world-class training from Woodward coaches and attending athletes as they look to dial in new tricks.
The park typically stays open from early June to early September. Last season, the hike park made it to September 7 before closing in preparation for the winter season.
Hike park day tickets are available for $25 on Woodward’s website. Hike park season passes are also available for $249.
“Time to make it another summer to remember. We will see you all soon!” Woodward wrote in its Instagram announcement.
