Ey up, this is Yorkshire’s road-legal answer to the Porsche 911 GT3 R racecar

Are you a proud Yorkshire native that loves modified cars and has a spare million quid lying around? Do you already own everything that Twisted Automotive builds? Well, we’ve some good news for you, because this is t’ Talos Porsche 911 RT.

Just 20 examples of this “true race car for the road” are set to be built, and if you already own a 991.2 Porsche 911 GT3 RS then it won’t actually cost you a million bob. The conversion to RT spec only costs £850,000 excluding the donor car. Bargain. If you’ve not got the Porsche already, used prices currently kick off around the £150,000 mark. Ah.

Anyway, as you might be able to tell from the monstrous wing and diffuser, the RT was inspired by the 911 GT3 R race car. In fact, that car’s full carbon body was 3D scanned and redesigned slightly to fit the road-going GT3 RS chassis. Certainly looks the part, doesn’t it?

The new woven bodywork with its many vents and intakes is said to help reduce the car’s overall weight by 80kg. Wonder how many of the 20 buyers will choose to leave it exposed like the one you see above?

The 4.0-litre flat-six seems to have been tweaked slightly from its 513bhp standard form, with Talos saying it now makes around 540bhp. However, we’re also told the engine retains its original character, “with a focus on response, driver engagement and reliability”. The 0-62mph sprint drops by two tenths to 3.0 seconds.

Buyers do get a bespoke exhaust system though, plus forged centrelock magnesium wheels and a suspension setup that has been designed in collaboration with Öhlins. Apparently, it’s a digital TTX system with adjustable dampers that can be controlled via a smartphone app.

What do we think folks? The perfect road racer for a blast on the North York Moors?
