“We are very sorry to announce that Bonnie has been admitted to hospital in Faro, Portugal, where she has a home, for emergency intestinal surgery,” their update read, and they added that she is in stable condition and expected to make a full recovery soon.

“The surgery went well, and she is now recuperating. We know that all of her family, friends, and fans will be concerned about this news and will be wishing her well for a full and swift recovery.”

The statement did not share exactly why she was ushered in for surgery, however outlets including the Daily Mail have reported that she had suffered a perforated intestine after experiencing intense pain in the abdomen.

More details are expected to be shared at a later date.

The update from her reps come as the ‘Holding Out For a Hero’ singer is gearing up for a European tour, which is meant to launch in Malta on May 22.

At time of writing, that gig is still set to go ahead as planned.

Ahead of Tyler going into hospital, she told fans that she was feeling good about the tour and in good health as she prepared to hit the road.

Speaking to Hello! this March, she said: “I’m fit enough at the moment, touch wood, and I’m really enjoying doing the shows. I’m still rocking on that stage with my wonderful band, and if you’ve got your health, you’ve got everything.”

Before then, she told The Mirror (via Wales Online) that, while she has “slowed down” over the years, she has no plans to retire.
