Based on the hit video game series, Adi Shankar’s animated Devil May Cry first hit Netflix last year. Limp Bizkit classic ‘Rollin’ was used as the theme song, while Papa Roach’s ‘Last Resort’ soundtracked the launch trailer. Evanescence also contributed a brand new song ‘Afterlife’ to the series which they later performed live at The Game Awards.

Explaining Devil May Cry’s nu-metal heavy soundtrack, Shankar said: “My universe is set in a late ’90s/early 2000s PS2 era of the world. It’s not set in modern times. It’s set in my memory of the world, pre- and post-9/11. My music choices reflect this.”

Last month it was confirmed that Papa Roach would be returning to the Devil May Cry soundtrack for season two. They’ve teamed up with rapper Hanumankind for brand new track ‘See U In Hell’. Last night (May 5) the full soundtrack for Devil May Cry season two was shared.

Every song on the Devil May Cry season two soundtrack:

Avril Lavigne – ‘Sk8er Boi’
Drowning Pool – ‘Bodies’

“In this animated adaptation of the popular Capcom game and from the vision of Adi Shankar, sinister forces are at play to open the portal between the human and demon realms. In the middle of it all is Dante, an orphaned demon-hunter-for-hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck,” reads the official synopsis of Devil May Cry.

“I’m honoured that Netflix and Capcom have entrusted me to shepherd the Devil May Cry franchise,” said Shankar in a statement. “Alex Larsen and I love these characters, we are part of the fandom, and vow to surpass the exceptionally high bar we set for ourselves.”
