Earlier this week, Amsterdam’s annual King’s Day celebrations were under way, and global sportswear retailer, JD, was all in on action, hosting its own soundsystem in the Jordaan district.

A short walk from its flagship store on Kalverstraat, the festivities saw the retailer move away from its typical fashion and footwear activations to focus on bringing hours of music and dance to the streets. Together with Dutch DJ and producer Jarreau Vandal, it curated a line-up of performances from regional artists and DJs including Lamsi, Disco Arabesquo, JAEL and more.

As the celebrations unfolded on the streets, crowds decked out in Dutch football shirts and orange-toned outfits gathered to experience the sets, turning the area into a vibrant celebration of local sounds. After spending the day dancing among the party goers, Jarreau Vandal also took the stage for a special set where he performed some of his hit tracks.

Despite hosting an alternative activation, the dedicated King’s Day soundsystem underscored the retailer’s mission in bringing authentic experiences to its community, amplifying its latest campaign, “This Space Is Yours.”
