The Spanish Moto2 race saw Senna Agius hit the front, then pull the pin over the final two laps for his second race win in a row, this time in Jerez.

The Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP rider started fourth, with polesitter Collin Veijer holding on as the early leader, under pressure from Manuel Gonzalez.

As Veijer began to struggle, Agius was ready to pounce, taking over out front on lap fourteen, with his team-mate also swooping past the Red Bull bike.

A burst of speed over the closing laps saw the Australian pull away to take consecutive victories, this time by 0.885s.

Gonzalez, who won from pole at Jerez in 2025, locked in after a steady beginning to the weekend, to make the most of his front row start, holding second for valuable championship points and a popular home rostrum visit.

The lead trio were clear so Veijer was able to complete the podium – his first of the season – building on a first ever Moto2 pole for the Netherlands rider.

David Alonso had qualified sixth, but got a poor start, which then lead to a tangle involving himself and Alex Escrig, with fellow Aspar rider Daniel Holgado forced wide behind.

No action was taken after a review, but the move left Alonso with work to do, as he set about chasing the leaders.

The Spaniard slashed the advantage out front for his home fans, but the gap proved too much, finishing fourth for Gaviota Aspar.

Celestino Vietti was also making moves in the right direction in race trim.

After a lacklustre qualifying saw the Italian line up 13th, helped by crashes ahead as Barry Baltus and Alonso Lopez fell in quick succession, the Beta Tools SpeedRS rider was the top Boscoscuro rider in fifth.

The battle for sixth was next to reach the chequered flag, with Italtrans man Daniel Munoz just holding off Izan Guevara, who made light work of his grid penalty to take the Blu Cru Yamaha to seventh.

Tony Arbolino had shown good form in the wet practice session, but has not been able to show session topping pace in the dry on his Fantic bike. Starting 14th the Italian was abe to pick up places in race mode, for eighth.

After securing a front row start Forward rider Escrig faded to ninth, with Ivan Ortola completing the top ten for QJMotor.

The Spaniard had a battle to the line with Daniel Holgado on the second Aspar machine, who was 11th, who was in turn clear of Ayumu Sasaki in 12th for the Idrofoglia Team.

The remaining points went to Deniz Oncu in 13th for Elf MArc VDS, Filip Salc in 14th for American Racing and his team-mate Joe Roberts in 15th.

Crashes, injuries and replacements

Angel Piqueras was absent after taking the brunt of the turn one crash in Austin. His replacement at QJMotor – Galfer – MSI, Marcos Ramirez finished just out of the points in 16th.

Sergio Garcia had a double long lap penalty for his part in the COTA incident, placing 19th, while Alberto Ferrnadez was given a pit lane start, the Blu Cru Pramac rider was the last rider to finish, in 21st.

Adrian Huertas suffered an early exit on lap one.

Aron Canet had a huge crash on lap six, but walked away.

Baltus and Lopez fell in quick succession from top five placings. Taiyo Furusato, Jorge Navarro and Mario Aji all also failed to go the distance.

Championship Standings

A win sees Aguis move up four positions to be his team-mates closest rival, 9.5 points behind on a total of 50.

Guevara drops to third overall, with 45 points. The top five after round four is completed by Vietti (43 points) and Holgado (38 points).
