Aprilia’s 2027 MotoGP prototype will complete its first laps at Jerez next week, test rider Lorenzo Savadori has confirmed.

While KTM and Honda have already released videos of their 850cc prototypes on track, Ducati’s 2027 bike was recently spotted in the hands of Michele Pirro at Misano.

Yamaha is also understood to have completed some initial running of an 850 behind closed doors.

Aprilia will now join the list with Savadori – competing as a wild-card in this weekend’s Spanish MotoGP – staying on the 1000cc RS-GP for Monday’s Official test, before returning on the new 850cc later in the week.

“I will test the 850 here on Wednesday and Thursday,” he said.

“Of course, the engine has been running since last year, but it will be on track for the first time.

“I can’t wait to try the new era of MotoGP. We are happy about the data we saw this winter in Noale.”

Savadori has already gathered some Pirelli tyre data using the current bike.

News of the 2027 RS-GP debut follows a dream start for Aprilia in the current campaign.

Marco Bezzecchi has led every lap of all three grands prix to take the title lead, with team-mate Jorge Martin a close second after the Italian’s Sprint mistakes.

Savadori stressed that the development of this year’s RS-GP remains a priority.

“No, no. We are continuing to push also for this year,” he said.

“I will try new parts during the race weekend, then on Monday, the new parts will go to Bez and Jorge. So we will continue to push.”
