In 2026, Survivor is celebrating 50 seasons. That means for more than 25 years now, contestants have competed on a reality show to test their survival skills in the wilderness while forming and breaking alliances, all in pursuit of a $1 million prize.
Since premiering in 2000, the groundbreaking, intense reality show hosted by Jeff Probst has captivated audiences. Even if you haven’t seen a single episode of it, you’ve probably encountered any given number of references in pop culture to its dramatic eliminations — perhaps you’re familiar with its famous phrase, “The tribe has spoken!” — or high-stakes challenges that put both strategic and athletic abilities to the test. More than 750 contestants have tried their hands at the all-consuming, physically exhausting game, and countless others have tuned in season after season to watch everything unfold.
With the size of Survivor‘s audience, it’s only natural that many of the show’s fans are people with big fanbases themselves. Numerous celebrities have expressed their devout love for the enterprise, including several star musicians — some of whom have even gotten the chance to make cameos or add their own twists on episodes of the show. A certain A-list pop star, for instance, recently launched her very own game-changing idol in the series’ landmark 50th season, while a famous country bandleader once sailed out to the island to hang out with the contestants and grill up some fresh catch. (More on both of those later.)
The 50th installment of Survivor is ongoing, with the finale slated to air on CBS and Paramount+ in May. As the competition plays out, see some of the famous musicians who have been open about their love for the long-running show below.

-
Billie Eilish
Billie Eilish is such a fan of Survivor, she even sings about it on her 2022 song “TV.” “I put on Survivor just to watch somebody suffer/ Maybe I should get some sleep,” the lyrics go. “Sinking in the sofa while they all betray each other/ What’s the point of anything?”
In honor of season 50, Eilish got to be a part of the show by designing her own boomerang idol, which competitors could find out in the wild and pass on to other players to strategically manipulate eliminations (if the recipient of the Billie Eilish boomerang idol is eliminated, the idol goes back to the giver).
“I saw a little interview with Billie where she said, ‘I think I might want to play,’” Jeff Probst told People. “I’m just saying, the invitation is there. It seems unlikely. It’s a long commitment, but Billie’s always welcome.”
-
Chase Rice
Just as he was embarking on his career in country music, Chase Rice competed on season 21 of Survivor in 2010. That same year, he dropped debut album Friday Nights and Sunday Mornings.
-
Dave Navarro
Dave Navarro is one of those Survivor fans who wants to compete on the show someday. “I have thought very seriously about signing up for Survivor,” the Janes Addiction star said on Tiger Belly in 2018, rejecting the idea of participating in a “celebrity” season of the show and emphasizing he’d rather be just like any other contestant. “I could do it. I could win.”
-
Doja Cat
Doja Cat proved she’s a Survivor viewer by sharing a video on her Instagram Story in 2021 of an exchange between contestants Parvati Shallow and Russell Hantz playing out on her TV. “He’s so scary,” she said in the clip, laughing animatedly.
-
Jack Harlow
Jack Harlow loves Survivor so much that Jeff Probst recorded a congratulatory video for the rapper in 2022 after he earned Grammy nominations. The host also invited the musician to make a guest appearance on the show. “Dream come true right here,” Harlow wrote on X at the time.
A few months later, Probst made a cameo on the Harlow-hosted episode of Saturday Night Live.
-
Sia
Sia is a massive fan of Survivor — to the point where she regularly gave cash prizes to her favorite contestants for eight years. The “Sia Prize” came to an end in 2024, but throughout that time she awarded more than $1 million to a total of 19 players.

Zac Brown
Zac Brown got to step inside his favorite show when the country star took over an episode of its 50th season, showing off his spearfishing skills and grilling some food for a few of the competitors. “I love the unpredictability of [Survivor],” he told the winning players at the time. “I’ve seen all of you play, so it’s weird — I feel like I know all of you.”
