Loveland Ski Area, Colorado, has announced Sunday, April 26, 2026, as its targeted closing day for the season, pending conditions, the resort said Thursday.

The announcement comes as warming temperatures accelerate spring melt across the mountain. The 2025–26 season has proven challenging across Colorado. The state’s April 1 snow water equivalent averaged just 3.3 inches across 115 SNOTEL sites, or 22% of the 30-year median, a figure that forced several resorts to close early. Loveland has seen 160″ of snow this season, and currently has a 34″ base, 45% of average.

Despite those pressures, Loveland will have operated approximately 170 days by season’s end—a mark the resort called a point of pride for its staff. More than 500 acres of skiable terrain remain open, with spring conditions still available across the mountain.

Loveland Ski Area Closing Day 2026 Events Calendar

Loveland Valley, which closed earlier in the season, will reopen for one final bonus weekend from April 10–12 before the resort winds down operations for good.

The final two weeks will feature live music every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through closing day, along with a series of signature spring events. The Loveland Derby and Shinobi Showdown Snowboard Competition are scheduled for April 11–12, while April 18 brings the SheJumps Wild Skills Junior Ski Patrol Camp and a chance for guests to ski alongside a wildlife officer.

The season concludes on April 25 with the 25th Annual Corn Harvest Party, a fundraiser benefiting the Colorado Avalanche Information Center, followed by a closing-day celebration on April 26 featuring live music from Mark Morris.

Two previously scheduled events will not take place: the Free Family Race Day, planned for April 18, and the Never Summer Banked Slalom, slated for May 2–3.

Loveland, a family-owned resort located 53 miles west of Denver, offers 1,800 acres of terrain and has traditionally run one of the longest seasons in North America. This spring, the resort is inviting guests to make the most of the remaining days before the lifts stop turning for another year.
