Trump threatens Iran in expletive-laden post
On Sunday, US President Donald Trump stepped up his threat to hit Iran’s critical infrastructure hard if Tehran does not reopen the Strait of Hormuz by his April 6 deadline. In a social media post, he declared that “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran.”
“Donald Trump has threatened war crimes with the destruction of civilian infrastructure,” Scott Lucas, professor of American Studies at University College Dublin, told DW. “It is a sign of anger, it is a sign of frustration and it is a sign — I think — of desperation that he has not gotten what he wanted, which is regime surrender.”
