Some bikes make sense for purely objective reasons. If you want pure aerodynamics, for example, the Factor One is the logical choice. Then there are bikes that are worth buying simply for how they ride. The Specialissima RC isn’t the absolute lightest bike you can buy, and it’s not the most aero. It is a do-it-all bike, but it’s the one I go back to over and over. Every time I ride it, I know I’d be happy if it were my only choice.
The RC frame drops some weight, but the real magic is in the feel of the bike. It has that immediate snap that makes it genuinely fun. I also happen to be a huge fan of the design, which I talked about extensively in my Bianchi Specialissima review. My only complaint? The classic Celeste paint is heavy, so there’s a little less of it on this RC version.
