This is a track riddled with grit and grunge, destined for the flies on Berghain walls. Nia Smith ft. Destin Conrad – “Tough”
Brixton’s own Nia Smith releases “Tough” alongside friend and collaborator, Destin Conrad, on this smooth ballad touching on “men not needing to be so tough” – and neither does she. Her alto-rich, old-school tone paired with Destin’s seamless riffs and adlibs makes for a warm hum, enriched with even warmer encouragement. With this soft, soulful track, we should all go a little easier on ourselves.
Flying Lotus – “BIG MAMA”

Jalen Ngonda – “Doctrine of Love”
Jalen Ngonda returns with the title track from his upcoming album Doctrine Of Love. The single blends finger-snapping rhythms, call-and-response backing vocals, and a gospel-charged crescendo, drawing on classic ’60s soul while staking out Ngonda’s own modern take. It’s a confident statement from an artist who has gone from intimate club shows to festival main stages and is now stepping fully into his role as one of contemporary soul’s torchbearers.

The Itch – “Drugdealer”
Stepping into the love song space, Luton’s The Itch gives us a fourth preview into their upcoming debut album with their latest, romance-struck tune “Drugdealer”. The first of which is “WIRED”, the title track for the album, which brings all the energy and heart you might’ve missed from them. Nettspend ft. YoungBoy Never Broke Again – “masked up”
He certainly isn’t for everyone, but divisive US enigma Nettspend opens conversations at the very least. He’s finally come through with his new album, early life crisis, which is chaotic and unconventional as you’d expect from the boundary-breaker. Focus single “masked up” borrows the oddball craftsmanship of YoungBoy Never Broke Again.

Elemental and personal, the track captures the raw energy that defines her writing.
Kamal. ft. Keaton Henson – “no friend, no lover”
An amber-lit garage. A moonlit ground with flecks of light bouncing off damp leaves. And a beanie-topped Kamal. singing into a corded mic alongside collaborator and friend, guitarist Keaton Henson. Here, he lets us into the whisperings of his (lyrical) diary; pages that pen the confronting lyrics from his latest single “no friend, no lover”. It’s a folk-fused, country twanged, angsty, almost-ballad that confronts parasocial relationships, and the insincerity that often accompanies success.
