Paris-Nice is back on Sunday, March 8, and so is Jonas Vingegaard in what will be one of the most hotly anticipated debuts of 2026.

The grand tour galáctico kickstarts his season Sunday at the “Race to the Sun” after a spell of injury and illness, and he won’t be offered an easy start to his audacious Giro-Tour season.

João Almeida, Juan Ayuso, and a GC triple threat from Ineos Grenadiers will also be elbowing for victory at the prestigious French race.

Biniam Girmay headlines the stage-hunters in a premium WorldTour event that’s surprisingly short of top sprinters.

Two-time Paris-Nice champion Matteo Jorgenson won’t be defending his title after he tweaked his calendar to take an Italian pathway through the spring. The U.S. star will instead be racing at the overlapping Tirreno-Adriatico stage-race.

Believe it or not, the team time trial on stage 3 of this year’s Paris-Nice will be a must-watch.

The 24km test will follow the “ASO method” of allocating GC times. Riders will be awarded their own time at the line, rather than teams being blanket-applied the time of their fourth or fifth finisher.

The format will next be used at the grand départ of the Tour de France, making Tuesday’s stage a crucial dry-run of team dynamics and pacing strategies.

Be sure to also tune in for the hilly double-whammy on the final weekend of the 8-day race.

A summit finish on Saturday and a multi-climb canter around Nice on Sunday will determine who takes the distinctive golden trophy.
