Revelstoke Mountain Resort wrapped up February in excellent form, with consistent refreshes keeping conditions soft and wintery across the upper mountain. Day after day, light snowfall and subalpine temperatures hovering around -5°C preserved quality snow surfaces and kept turns feeling mid-season fresh.
While the recent pineapple express cycle left rain runnels and challenging surfaces across parts of coastal British Columbia, higher elevations in Interior B.C.—including Revelstoke—were largely spared. With a reported base depth exceeding 280 cm, coverage remains strong up high, providing a healthy foundation heading into March.
Credit also goes to RMR’s mountain safety team for opening alpine bowls throughout storm cycles and periods of strong wind, maximizing access during a dynamic weather pattern. Conditions do change as you descend. Base-area temperatures have been flirting with the freezing mark, and coverage is beginning to thin at lower elevations. Ski-outs to the valley bottom are still in play but are likely to narrow as March progresses, particularly if warmer temperatures persist.
The outlook remains promising, with additional snowfall forecast for the first week of March—a welcome continuation of what has been a steady late-winter reset for Revelstoke’s upper mountain.
