Skiers and snowboarders around the world dream of the powder and terrain around Revelstoke in Interior British Columbia. We watch the movies and the dreamy Instagram reels from there where everything looks like pure powdery perfection for snow-sliding enthusiasts.

For the normal skier and snowboarder, deep backcountry and heliskiing can seem out of reach. Many of us wonder: Am I even good enough to be able to handle an adventure like this?

Some food for thought: getting away from chairlifts might be more achievable than you think.

Located in Revelstoke, Selkirk Tangiers Heli Skiing has adventures to suit advanced riders and beyond. The operation has access to the Selkirk and Monashee Mountains, with over 500,000 acres of terrain, and more than 400 runs. There is plenty of variety, and the experiences are life-changing.

Think, dreamy wide-open alpine peaks, deep powder tree skiing, and skiing all the way to the valley floor.

Interior British Columbia is world-famous for high-quality snow. The moderate temperatures help create a balanced snowpack, with a mixture of the coastal mountains and the cold, low-density snow found in the Canadian Kootenay Rockies region. The snowpack is generally more stable than other parts of North America, which allows for more access to a wider variety of terrain.
